David Walliams lost his contract with longtime publisher.

The author

Prolific children's author and comedian David Walliams is no longer with his UK book publisher, the company has said.

An official for the publisher said: "Following a thorough review, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing future works by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the decision was taken subsequent to an inquiry regarding allegations of conduct deemed unsuitable towards young women.

The publisher has not elaborated on the specific rationale behind the move, noting: "We refrain from speaking about internal matters."

A Highly Successful Literary Career

Walliams stands as a most prolific writers for young readers, having sold more than 60 million copies internationally in dozens of tongues.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Some of his works, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into small-screen adaptations.

He has published in excess of 40 works in total, which features a Christmas book called *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.

From Screen to Page

His career breakthrough occurred on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE several years ago for his services to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

The publisher's decision comes after the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss this past October.
