Based on latest figures, the count of people aged 100 and above in the UK has doubled from 8,300 in 2004 to 16,600 in 2024.
Between 2004 and 2024, the figure of men aged 100 or over has increased threefold from 910 to 3,100. During the same period, the number of women aged 100 or over almost doubled from 7,400 to 13,600.
We are eager to receive stories from those aged 100 or over, their relatives or companions, about what it has been like to bear witness to the past century’s transformative changes and changes.
